Posted: January 14th, 2012 | in Game Notes | Comments 0

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees defeated the Texas Brahmas 3-2 to move into a tie for fourth place with the Tulsa Oilers in the highly-competitive Berry Conference. The win for the Bees was their fourth in six games and over the last six games the Bees have earned nine points.

The Bees scored twice in a 15-second span to start the second period last night as Mike Wilson and Brandon Campos each scored in the first 50 seconds of the period. Wilson’s goal was deflected by Texas to the back of their own net while the Bees were on the man-advantage and Campos worked a loose puck in front of the net to score.

Tomas Klempa added the Bees third goal with less than a minute to play in the second. The Brahmas would score one in the third but Wylie Rogers turned away the rest of the opportunities for the victory.

The Bees have reached the halfway mark of the season, after 33 of 66 games the Bees hold a 15-13-5 record. Last season at the halfway point the Bees had a 13-17-3 record.
