The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees snapped a three-game losing streak by defeating the Allen Americans 3-0 on Saturday night. The Bees are the first team to shut Allen out this season and only the second team to ever shutout Allen at the Allen Event Center. The shutout is the third recorded by the Bees this season.

John Murray was spectacular in net making 36 saves. Despite a three-goal advantage Allen did not go quietly as they pulled the goalie for the final six minutes but Murray and the Bees defense did not falter.

Offensivley things also started quickly as Dan Gendur scored just a minute and half into the game. In the second period Aaron Boogaard and Tomas Klempa would find the back of the net.

The Berry Conference continues to be tight and despite the win last night the Bees remain in fifth place. The Bees are one point behind Tulsa and now sit five points behind the Texas Brahmas who defeated Laredo last night.

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees continue to look for revenge this evening facing the Laredo Bucks. The Bees fell by a 3-2 score to Laredo last Saturday in a close game. Dan Gendur and Tomas Klempa scored the two Bees goals while on the power-play.

Dan Gendur scored his third goal in his last two games while on the man advantage. Craig Lineker fed the puck to Gendur who was waiting on the back door. It was the 10th goal of the season for Gendur.

Tomas Klempa brought the Bees within one goal at the 7:45 mark of the third period as he one-timed a Dan Gendur pass to the back of the net. Klempa has now recorded a point in 13 straight games for the Killer Bees. The rest of the game was spent trying to find the equalizer but the Bees were unable to do so as Laredo held on to the one-goal win.

The Killer Bees are now 4-4-1 against their South Texas rivals with 8 games remaining between the two teams.

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees look for revenge this evening facing the Laredo Bucks in a rare 4:00 p.m. start. The Bees fell by a 5-3 score to Laredo last night in a tough match-up. The Bees trailed 3-0 before rallying to tie the game at three.

Dan Gendur led the offensive punch for the Bees against the Bucks scoring the first two Bees goals of the game. The first came off a Tomas Klempa feed (which extended Klempa’s point streak to 12 games) and the second came just minutes later as Gendur slid the puck under Torrie Jung.

Tyler Barr tied the game at three with his first goal of the season, a nifty backhand move to beat Jung while on a breakaway. Kirill Startsev picked up the primary assist in his first game as a member of the Bees and goalie Wylie Rogers earned the second assist on the Bees strike.

The Killer Bees are now 4-3-1 against their South Texas rivals with 9 games remaining between the two teams.

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees travel to the Laredo Energy Arena to continue their four-game set against the Bucks. The Bees are coming off a 4-3 victory against Laredo on Tuesday night at the State Farm Arena.

The Bees scored two third periods goals in a 20-second span to take control of the game. Sixteen seconds after Laredo tied the game at two Tomas Klempa raced down the ice to give the Bees the lead back, and 20 seconds after Klempa’s goal Aaron Boogaard wristed a shot past the Laredo netminder for the two goal advantage which left a late Laredo strike null.

The Killer Bees are now 4-2-1 against their South Texas rivals with 10 games remaining between the two teams. Tomas Klempa remains hot for the Bees and currently rides an 11 game point streak with 15 points during that period. Klempa, who led the Bees in points last season, is the reigning Oakley CHL Player of the Week and over his last five games has eight points.

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees defeated the Texas Brahmas 3-2 to move into a tie for fourth place with the Tulsa Oilers in the highly-competitive Berry Conference. The win for the Bees was their fourth in six games and over the last six games the Bees have earned nine points.

The Bees scored twice in a 15-second span to start the second period last night as Mike Wilson and Brandon Campos each scored in the first 50 seconds of the period. Wilson’s goal was deflected by Texas to the back of their own net while the Bees were on the man-advantage and Campos worked a loose puck in front of the net to score.

Tomas Klempa added the Bees third goal with less than a minute to play in the second. The Brahmas would score one in the third but Wylie Rogers turned away the rest of the opportunities for the victory.

The Bees have reached the halfway mark of the season, after 33 of 66 games the Bees hold a 15-13-5 record. Last season at the halfway point the Bees had a 13-17-3 record.
