The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees open the 2012 playoffs against the Wichita Thunder tonight. The Bees are in the post-season for the second straight season and will face Wichita for the first time in franchise history.

CAREER YEAR FOR LEE ENDS WITH PLAYER OF THE MONTH

The Killer Bees, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, announced that Aaron Lee has been named the Sher-wood CHL Player of the Month for March. Lee was instrumental in securing the Killer Bees playoff berth.

KILLER BEES SIGN CARLSON, SET PLAYOFF ROSTER

The Killer Bees finalized their 19-man roster for the 2012 CHL Playoffs. In addition to the 19 players under CHL contract the Bees have inked amateur Cody Carlson from the Western Hockey League to an Amateur Try-Out.

AARON LEE NAMED OAKLEY SECOND STAR FOR MARCH

The Killer Bees are proud to announce that forward Aaron Lee has been named the Oakley Second Star of the Month for March. Lee took home first star honors four times and added one third star honor for the award.

KILLER BEES CAP REGULAR SEASON WITH 7-2 ROUT

It was a record setting Sunday as the Killer Bees finished their regular season with a 7-2 victory over the Laredo Bucks. Reid Edmondson recorded his first career hat trick and Dan Gendur set the new points record.

Dan Gendur was one of five Killer Bees to register multi-point nights as the Bees clinched a playoff spot with an 8-2 victory over the Laredo Bucks on Friday night. Gendur, Jason Dixon, and Kirill Statsec scored twice.

JOHN MURRAY CALLED TO AHL’S GRIFFINS

The Killer Bees announced that Bees goalie John Murray has been called to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL. Murray has been a star in net this season for the Bees and holds a 15-14-2 record.

LEE SETS SINGLE SEASON GOAL MARK IN 3-1 LOSS TO QUAD CITY

The Killer Bees finished their regular season set of road games with a 3-1 loss to the Quad City Mallards. Aaron Lee scored the Bees lone goal, his 36th of the season setting a new Killer Bees single season record.
