The Killer Bees took another step towards the playoffs with a 5-4 victory over the Dayton Gems on Friday night. Aaron Lee scored twice and Brandon Campos and Scott Balan each added a goal and an assist.

The Killer Bees make their first appearance ever in Dayton, Ohio to face the Gems tonight. The Bees and Gems have never met on the ice before. Tonight’s game is the furthest east the Bees have trekked since Jan. 28, 2007.

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees announced Thursday the signing of defenseman Jon Madden. Madden, 6'2, 209, played for former Killer Bees head coach Chris Brooks at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

The Central Hockey League announced their fifty Best of the Best awards for the 2012 season with the Killer Bees placing in six different categories and capturing the Best Mascot Award for the fourth straight season.

LEE IS CROWNED AS NEW GOAL SCORING KING, BEES WIN 4-2

Aaron Lee scored twice as became the Killer Bees all-time leading goal scorer as the Bees defeated Bloomington by a 4-2 score. Lee scored twice and John Murray made a season high 53 saves for the win.

The Killer Bees traveled east for a three-game road swing starting tonight in Bloomington. The Bees have been to Bloomington once before defeating the then PrairieThunder 5-0 on a Sunday afternoon.

JOHN MURRAY NAMED OAKLEY CHL GOALIE OF THE WEEK

The Killer Bees, in conjunction with the CHL, announced that Killer Bees goalie John Murray was named the Oakley CHL Goalie of the Week on Tuesday. Murray went 3-0 during the past week allowing only three goals.

LEE’S MILESTONE GOAL LEADS BEES TO 5-2 VICTORY

The Bees defeated Arizona by a 5-2 score. Aaron Lee scored a milestone goal in the win for the Bees. Lee’s 90th goal has now tied him with Bill Newson for the all-time goals scored record for the Bees.

The Killer Bees play their final game against the Arizona Sundogs tonight at the State Farm Arena. The Bees are 8-1-1 against Arizona this season and are 4-0-1 at the Hive. The Bees were victorious by a 6-2 score last night.
