KILLER BEES TO DISTRIBUTE 1500 CAR SEATS THIS SATURDAY
Hidalgo, Texas --- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central
Hockey League have teamed up with HEB Plus, the Killer Bee
Foundation, WIC, Another Closet Storage, Rio Grande Regional
Hospital and the Department of Public Safety to give away 1500 car
seats to those in need this Saturday at two HEB Plus locations from
8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The entire Killer Bees team (players, coaches, front office staff)
will be on hand distributing the car seats, while DPS workers will
assist in properly securing the seats inside the vehicles. The Bees
are using a rare early-season Saturday off between home games to
participate in the event. The team plays Odessa on Friday night
(7:30 p.m.) and Youngstown on Sunday (4 p.m.).
The families that will receive the car seats have been
predetermined. The giveaway takes place at HEB Plus in Mission (2409
E. Expressway 83) and HEB Plus in San Juan (901 W. Expressway 83).
“We’re excited to help not only raise awareness of car seat safety,
but also directly contribute to the greater Rio Grande Valley by,
along with our partners, actually providing car seats to those who
need them most,” explained Killer Bees Director of Public and
Community Relations Jacquie Kurth.
